As the region's oldest and largest art museum, the San Diego Museum of Art's renowned holdings include a fine selection of European old masters, 19th and 20th century American art, an encyclopedic Asian collection, and growing collections of contemporary and Latin American art. In addition, the museum presents major art exhibitions from around the world, as well as an extensive schedule of supporting cultural and educational programs.

Families love investigating the Museum’s collections with the bilingual “Private Eye Gallery Cards” and lunching in the museum café that features a child’s menu and art-activity place mats. Once every three months the Museum presents a free Family Festival with interactive art projects, live entertainment, and free tours of the exhibitions in English and Spanish.
The Museum Store
at the San Diego Museum of Art presents the most comprehensive
collection of art books in the region. In addition, an exquisite
selection of art-inspired jewelry, crafted by both local and
international artisans, can be found. Whether you are looking for
contemporary home furnishing accents, Asian antique décor, a gift to
inspire your child, or a special treat for yourself, The Museum Store
carries a carefully selected assortment of one-of-a-kind merchandise.
Purchases help fund the San Diego Museum of Art's educational programs
and exhibitions.
Open from 5:00-9:00pm both evenings. Closed during the day.
